2. What data we process

We only process the data needed to sell and provide the Notchmate license:

  • Email address – to deliver your license key and invoice;
  • Payment data – processed by Stripe; we never receive full card/account details;
  • License data – license key, status, expiry date and a device identifier;
  • Support requests – name, email, subject, message and timestamp.

We use no marketing trackers, no profiling and no advertising cookies.

3. Hosting (Vercel)

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). When you access it, technically necessary server log files (including IP address, timestamp, requested resource) are processed. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR); standard contractual clauses are in place for transfers to the USA.

4. Database (Neon)

License and support data are stored in a PostgreSQL database at Neon Inc. (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR – performance of a contract).

5. Payments (Stripe)

Payment processing is handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR. Stripe's privacy notice applies.

6. Email delivery (Resend)

We send the license key and support notifications via Resend, Inc. (USA). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR; standard contractual clauses are in place for transfers to the USA.

7. License validation by the app

To activate and periodically verify your license, the Notchmate app sends only your license key and a device identifier (hardware UUID) to notchmate.menubarmonitor.com. This binds a license to a Mac. System information and widget contents are never transmitted (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR).

8. Retention period

  • License data: up to 3 years after the contract ends;
  • Support requests: 12 months after the last communication;
  • Invoices/accounting: 10 years (statutory retention obligation).

9. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To exercise them, contact Nico.Sagolla@gmx.de; we respond within 30 days.

10. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority — in Germany, with the authority responsible for your place of residence.

11. SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the "https://" in your browser's address bar.
